ABOUT COACH
Baseball has been part of Andy Pendleton’s life since he was four years old.
A graduate of Lake Highlands High School and East Central University, Andy played the game through college, and it shaped who he is today. From a young age, he learned that his path would not be the easy one. His talent alone was not going to carry him.
He had to make his way up every depth chart.
Hard work. Communication. Consistency. Finding his strengths. That is how he earned his opportunities and pushed himself further than most expected.
Looking back now, Andy is grateful for that journey because it revealed something important. Development is not about hype. It is about reps. It is about coaching. It is about confidence built through competition.
After graduation, Andy coached a majors-level tournament baseball team from 10U until they reached 13U. They won a lot of games. They competed at a high level through high school, college, and some were drafted for the opportunity to play this game for a living. We had a blast and he loves seeing the boys to this day. But that experience also exposed something deeper about the youth sports system.
Now as a husband to Meredith and father to Palmer, 9, Beckett, 5, and Walker, 3, Andy sees the system through a different lens.
He sees the time demands.
He sees the financial pressure.
He sees families stretched thin chasing development that should be simpler and more accessible.
The current model asks one big question
“What team are you on?”
Sandlot League is built to change that question to
“What days are you going to Sandlot?”
Sandlot League exists to provide:
-More reps
-More skill development
-More competition
-More confidence
-And more time and money back in parents pockets
This league was created by a competitor who understands the grind and by a father who understands the cost.
We believe development should not require year round travel.
We believe competition should sharpen athletes, not exhaust families. We believe that sports make us better humans.
And we believe access to high level baseball and softball training should be consistent, structured, and local.
Baseball and softball athletes deserve intentional development. They deserve an environment where effort is rewarded, skills are sharpened, and confidence grows.
The traditional system has been broken for a long time. Sandlot League is building a better route. One where athletes develop, families breathe, and the love of the game stays alive.
Welcome to Sandlot!
